Resource management tools help organizations
improve productivity by optimizing the usage of all their
resources. This raises the following question: "What is the
potential productivity level of an organization, for a given quantity
of resources?" and its corollary: "What are the resources
that limit this potential?"
Resource management provides answers
to these questions. Workload reports include data and graphs describing
the usage of each resource. When reports indicate that some resources
are not used to their full capacity, it is possible to improve
productivity. If, on the other hand, a set of resources is used
to capacity, then the organization has achieved its optimal productivity
for those resources. In particular, workload reports underscore
the resources to be optimized in order to improve productivity.
This allows the organization to anticipate future needs based
on the current schedules and reports.
