The Lille Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (CCILM) uses ADESOFT to schedule its appointments during
business conventions
ADESOFT, the world's leading provider of professional planning and
resource management solutions, shows how its ADE Enterprise solution
optimized the allocation of 2,000 appointments during Enovationmeeting,
the three-day business convention of the CCILM, ensuring the optimal
use of rooms at the Grand Palais.
Since 2001, the Lille Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (CCILM) has organized enovationmeeting, the first e-commerce
business convention. From May 30 to June 1, at the Grand Palais
in Lille, over 2,000 targeted appointments on e-commerce and electronic
distribution were organized using an original, interactive methodology.
During these meetings, 200 project managers and 90
major industrial groups reviewed 250 innovative services. In this
environment, meetings had to be scheduled with several constraints:
availability of various people, room assignments, managing individual
requests and last-minute changes.
Mr. Accettone, Manager of the Business Convention,
asked a consulting firm to find the best solution to their problem.
"We wanted to find a program to schedule appointments that
we could interface to our transaction-based Web site, a virtual
marketplace where supply and demand interact, to display the appointment
schedules of all the participants," he explained.
Just two technical meetings were required to validate
the technical integration of the event Web site (www.enovationmeeting.com)
set up by the Lille CCI, and the ADE Enterprise application. The
client/server architecture of ADE Enterprise allowed the participants
to indicate the times they were available to the Web server in Lille.
This data was processed by the ADE Enterprise software running at
the ADESOFT office. The calculation engine optimized the assignments
of meetings and rooms to guarantee the optimal usage of all the
rooms in the Grand Palais.
The day before the event, the ADESOFT team installed
the application onsite. "The ADE server provided real-time
responses to last-minute changes, and scheduled appointments for
later the same day," explained Laure Andrieu, ADESOFT Project
Manager. "Furthermore, the local installation allowed us
to solve Internet network problems and to provide real-time responses
to users."
Thanks to ADE Enterprise, appointments were easily
managed and optimized, and the CCILM was able to successfully launch
enovationmeeting. The flexibility of ADE Enterprise made it possible
to manage last-minute changes in real time, so participants did
not have to wait for several hours before meeting the right contact.
"By connecting to the customized Web site
containing their own timetables, participants could directly see
the potential changes to their schedules, shift appointments and
add new ones," added Mr. Accettone. Furthermore, all participants
had their own personal timetable so they could instantly view all
their appointments for the day.
